Enrolling iOS in Intune Company Portal

Introduction

This guide will help you enroll and register your personal iPhone or iPad for work or school using the Intune Company Portal app. This allows access to work apps, Wi-Fi, and other resources.

Before You Begin

  • Install the Intune Company Portal app from the Apple App Store. The app supports devices running iOS 14.0 and later.
  • Ensure you have the Safari web browser on your device.
  • Maintain a Wi-Fi connection until all steps are complete.

Enroll Device

  1. Open the Company Portal app on your device and sign in with your work or school account.
  2. When prompted to receive notifications, tap Allow.
  3. On the "Set up access" screen, select Begin.

  1. Select your device and enrollment type:
    • Tap (Organization) owns this device if it’s provided by your organization.
    • Tap I own this device for a personal device.

  1. Choose how to protect the data on your device:
    • Secure entire device: Secures all apps and data.
    • Secure work-related apps and data only: Secures only work-related apps and data.

Secure Entire Device

  1. On the Device management and privacy screen, read through the information and tap Continue.
  2. Safari opens the Company Portal website on your device. When prompted to download the configuration profile, tap Allow.
  3. Go to the Settings app and tap Enroll in <organization name> or Profile Downloaded.
  4. Tap Install.
  5. Enter your device password and tap Install again.
  6. Tap Trust if prompted.
  7. After installation, tap Done.
  8. Return to the Company Portal app and complete the setup. Ensure all items show a green checkmark and tap Done.

Secure Work-Related Apps and Data

  1. On the Download Microsoft Authenticator screen, tap Download from App Store.
  2. Install the app and return to Company Portal. Tap Continue.
  3. On the Device management and privacy screen, read through the information and tap Continue.
  4. Safari opens the Company Portal website on your device. When prompted to download the configuration profile, tap Allow.
  5. Go to the Settings app and tap Enroll in <organization name> or Profile Downloaded.
  6. On the User Enrollment screen, tap Enroll My iPhone.
  7. Enter your device password and tap Install.
  8. Enter the password for your managed Apple ID and tap Sign in.
  9. Return to the Company Portal app and complete the setup. Ensure all items show a green checkmark and tap Done.

Privacy Concerns

When enrolling your personal device, it is important to understand what your organization can and cannot see. Here are some key points:

  • Can see: Device model, device manufacturer, operating system version, app inventory (only work-related apps), device name, and corporate email and network activities.
  • Cannot see: Personal email, photos, documents, text messages, web browsing history, and location.

Your organization uses this information solely for securing and managing work-related resources. They do not have access to your personal data.
